He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven Eugene Essinger and Ethyl E. Brown Essinger; his former wife Ruby Phyllis Nestlerode Essinger; his children, Bobby Joe Essinger and Jackie G.; and his mother-in-law Ann Bates.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Essinger; his sons, David Essinger (Carol), Jim Fly, Tony (Jennifer Markham) and Mark Markham; his stepson Michael Hawks; and his grandchildren, Jenifer Nutt, Jonathon Fly, Heather and Willie Markham. He is also survived by great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Centerville Church of Christ or Camp Caudle or Food on the Mount and Mt. George.
