He was predeceased by: his siblings, Nina Sue Gates and James Gates. He is survived by: his wife Helen Gates; his sons, Russell (Monica Gates), Brian (Tammy Gates), Jonathan (Michelle Gates) and Shawn (Katie Gates); his grandchildren, Cassandra, Darryl Ward of Tennessee, Shawna Gates of Danville, Skyla, Tyler Wagner of Van Buren, Shantel Gates of Waldron, Donavan Gates of Danville, Gage Gates of Jacksonville, Nicolas Vanderstoep of Colorado, Rebecca, Leah Price of Dardanelle, Jacob Vanderstoep of Dardanelle, Rowdy, Aaryn Gates of Oklahoma, Mackenzie and Seth Wagner of Russellville; and his siblings, Robert Gates of Dardanelle, Gladys Rosunbaum of Michigan, Mary Nell Harris of Moro, Katherine Miller of Russellville and Melba Palmertree of Danville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
