She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Comador DeFoor and Lela DeFoor (McNeely); her husband Joe Peters; her sons, Bobby Joel Howard and Harlis Cleveland Howard; her siblings, J. D. DeFoure and Mary Morrison; her granddaughters, Rebecca Howard Auxier and Jeannine Howard; and her daughters-in-law, Darlene Howard and Glenda Howard.
She is survived by: her sons, Herchel Howard of Mt. Pleasant and Jerry Howard (Joyce) of Pearl River, Louisiana; and her sister Faye Horton. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
