He was predeceased by: his parents, H. L. McElwaney and Ruby Blaire McElwaney; and his siblings, Betty Hansard, Jane Palmer and Danny McElwaney.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel Francine Davidson McElwaney; his daughters, Audra Stephens (Larry) of Madison, GA, Tonia McGlohan (Rodney) of Millen, GA and Andrea Adams of Monroe, LA; and his siblings, Carolyn Chastain of Tyrone, GA, Sandra Prince (James) of Tyrone, GA, Pam Vaughn of Watkinsville, GA and Ronald McElwaney (Joy) of Fayetteville, GA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Medders Funeral Home of Crossett (1564 State Hwy 52 W, Crossett, AR 71635). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Meridian Baptist Church (4593 Ashley 703 White Station Road, Crossett, AR 71635). A burial was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery (135 Ashley Rd 201 W, Crossett, AR 71635).
