It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edgar Alan Maxwell of Crossett, Arkansas, who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Maxwell and Eula Harris Maxwell; his former wife Hazel Kitchens Maxwell; his siblings, Harris, Travis, Steve Maxwell, Rose Walker, Maxine Sturdivant and Melba Thomas; his son-in-law Joe Stevens; and his grandchildren, Haylee Stevens Clark, Dennis Guy Maxwell and Ryan Douglas Brumley.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Reynolds Brumley Maxwell; his children, Glenn Maxwell (Kathy) of Crossett, Keith Maxwell (Paula) of Winnsboro, Louisiana, Terri Stevens of Crossett, David Brumley (Leola) of Portland, TX, Donna Goodwin (David) of Crossett, Dennis Brumley (Erica) of Lee's Summit, MO and Dana Brumley of Hillsboro, OR; and his grandchildren, Roy, Steven, Derek Maxwell, Glenda Richard, Adrien Welsh, Savannah King, Eric Brumley, Mia Brumley, Jennifer Montgomery, Sarah Blakely, Kaitlynn Morgan, Cailley Hendricks, Dalynn Brumley, Cheyenne Hanson and Alexa Croft. He is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Medders Funeral Home of Crossett (1564 State Hwy 52 W, Crossett, AR 71635). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Maplevale Missionary Baptist Church (3331 US-425, Hamburg, AR 71646). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at the Antioch Cemetery.
