He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Stigger Allen and Dan Allen; and his siblings, Alice Johnson (Willie Johnson Sr.), Ruth Allen Franklin, Lee Wesley "Bud" Allen (Shirley Ann), James Allen (Jeanette), Daniel Willis "D. W." Allen (Dorothy) and Roy Allen (Luster).
He is survived by: his son Rodney Trent McNeil; his sister Florence Curlett (Authur); his son Mitchell "Michael" McNeil; his close friend Laura Phillips; and his grandchildren, Chanetta Thornton (Seneca), JaMaal McNeil and Tyra McNeil. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
