He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Tennyson Bown and Harriet Estelle Bown (Gleichman); his wife Jean Hazell Bown; and his siblings, Bettye, Donald and Richard.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Zendt (Jack), Kenneth Bown (Mary), Douglas Bown (Jane) and Susan Wilkinson (Mike); his grandsons, David Melby (Debbie), Scott Melby (Heather) and Keith Bown (Estefani); his children, Marlene Bown (Beth Walsh), Leslie Teague (Andy), Sarah Butler (James), Stephanie McLaughlin (Michael), Natalie Rose (Reggie), Beth Reed (Neal) and Megan James (Adam); his great grandchildren, Bryan Melby (Sara Rose), Curtis Melby (Stephanie), Kortney Melby, Cale Daniel Burke, Christopher Melby (Gretchen), Jensen Melby, Noah Bown, Abigail Mia Bown, Ethan Keith Bown, Elizabeth Teague, Rachel Teague, Greyson Butler, Harrison Butler, Meyer McLaughlin, William Rose, Ella Rose, Brooks Reed, Reilly Reed and Tyson James; and his great great grandchildren, Elianna Rose Samantha Melby, Stephen David Melby, Damian William Melby and Oaklee May Melby.
