He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schichtl and Anna Mae Schichtl (Halter); his siblings, Anna Mae "Pete" Hart (John "Doc"), George Schichtl, Magdalene "Della" Duclos (Alvin), William Schichtl, Robert Schichtl and Ed Schichtl (Shirley); and his siblings-in-law, Angel Schichtl, Mary Lou Schichtl, Fred Claflin and Kenneth Rummel (Carolyn).

He is survived by: his wife Carol Schichtl; his brothers, Jim Schichtl and Roy "Butch" Schichtl; his sisters-in-law, Doris Claflin, Beth Schichtl, Shelby Schichtl and Joy Schichtl; and his children, Debbie Goggans (Richard), Ray Schichtl (Brenda), Matt Schichtl (Nicole), Mark Schichtl, Tommy Schichtl (Angie), Georgette Ferus (Greg) and Luke Schichtl (Rachel). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
