He was predeceased by: his parents, Lilus Lee (Fulmer) and Dolphus D Fortner; and his siblings, Leslie, Buddy, Danny, Wayne and Onita Fowlkes.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Fortner (Kelley) and Leah Pearce (Oscar); his grandchildren, Preston Pearce, Vicky Pearce and Amanda Adams (Jody); his great grandchildren, Cooper and Grace Adams; and his brothers, Donny Fortner and Randy Fortner (Rita). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
