He was predeceased by: his parents, Herschal Kemp Ross and Arda Francis Bull Ross; his former wife Donnie Jo Clark Ross; and his siblings, Cleveland Asher Ross and Claire E. R. Ross Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Akins Ross; his daughter Deborah Newell (Dean); his grandsons, Brandon (Courtney) and Jacob Newell; his great grandchildren, Jude and Nathanial Newell; his nieces and nephews, Dawn Ahhaitty, Lisa Ross, Robert Pearce and Ronnie Collings; and his cousins, Joe and Sam Strickland.
