He is survived by: his wife Melissa Ennis (Oates); his children, Hunter Ennis, Whit Herndon, III and Misty Mashburn; his sister Joyce Hefferman; and his grandchildren, Ryder, Hayden, Ethan, Colin Mashburn, Whit Herndon, IV and Amelia Claire Herndon.
