He was predeceased by: his father Norris Lafate Massey; his daughter Helen Brock Massey; and his siblings, James Roland Massey, Naomi Simmons (Jay) and Pearly Ann Chambers (Nathan).
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Gwatney Massey; his children, Donna Philpott (Phillip), Deanna Rogers (Stanley) and David Massey (Laura); his grandchildren, Alec Rogers, Rebecca Philpott, Nicholas Massey and Devon Rogers; his stepchildren, David Gwatney, Amanda Lentz (Wade) and Ana Galdamez; and his stepgrandchildren, Miguel Thorpe, Olivia Gwatney, Matthew Lentz, Diego Thorpe, Landon Lentz, Gloria Thorpe, Logan Lentz and Maddox Lentz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Museum of Veterans & Military History, 53 N Mt. Olive Road, Vilonia, AR 72173.
