He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Root and Louise Reaves Griffin; and his sister Lariece Craven. He is survived by: his wife Laurie Root; his children, Shawn Root, Natalie Rudolph, Bryce Shepherd, Michelle Mickens and Megan Honea; and his sister Sherry Dills. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
