She was predeceased by: her parents, Tolbert F. Owens and Clara Chapman Owens; her husband Jim McCurry; her siblings, Wilma Cater, Johnnie Hamman and T. E. "Red" Owens; her daughter Janie B. McCurry; and her niece Karen Bell.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy; and her close friend Pug. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
