Elizabeth McCoy Obituary
She was born to John and Eleanor Loyd on May 3rd, 1958 in Washington, DC. As an Air Force brat, she lived overseas as well as in the United States. Her father retired in Jacksonville where she graduated High School in 1976. She would go on to earn a degree in elementary education from the University of Central Arkansas in 1980 and later earned an adult education certification. After graduation she followed her husband on his assignments in the U.S. Army, also overseas and in the United States until he retired in Conway in 2001. She taught GED the last part of her teaching career. She had taught students of all ages for over thirty years at the time of her retirement.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Billy C. McCoy Jr; their three children, Bonnie E. McCoy, Brian J. McCoy and Melinda C. Houle (James) and one granddaughter, Marissa T. Houle. She is also survived by her siblings, Tim Loyd (Stephana), Kathy Fischer (Chuck), Chris Loyd (Susan) and nine nephews and nieces.
Liz had a passion for reading, a love of cross stitch and plastic canvas and an unmatched gift for cooking and baking. Her family and friends will remember her smile, her laugh, her warm hugs and her wise advice. Everyone who was taught by her in the classroom will remember her patience and her desire to see each of them succeed. Those who attended church with her will remember her as an incredible Sunday School teacher, choir member and faithful follower of her Savior Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held on Monday the 17th of February 2025 starting at 2pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with a funeral service on Monday the 17th of February 2025 starting at 3pm.
