He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Carter and Edna Carter (Tilley); his wife Clara Carter; and his sisters, Charlene Shamburger and Lucille Roberts.
He is survived by: his daughter Shirley Berry (Roden); and his brothers, Thomas Carter of Hot Springs and Jerry Carter of Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
