He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Lester Bowman and Lola Casteel Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Leta "Ruth" Bowman (Conway); and his children, Blenda Smith (Dwight) of Potts Camp, MS, Gary Bowman of Greenbrier, Lisa Martin (David) of Conway, Tommy Bowman (Casey) of Greenbrier and Bobby. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
