He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Newman and Ina Newman (Kirkendoll); his daughter Michell Lea Newman; his siblings, Maggie Emerson, Grady "Red" Newman, Carl Newman, Ilene Isom and Leona "Dee" Teague; and his close friend Veda Keeling.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Knight of Clinton and Janice Lumpkins of Texarkana, Texas; his grandchildren, Crystal Moore (Trapper) of Clinton, Misty Corbit (Greg) of Clinton, Courtney Lamb (Art) of Clinton, Dion Knight (LaShaunda) of Clinton, Travis L Lumpkins (Kalyn) of Texarkana, Texas and Cody Lumpkins (Amber) of Texarkana, Texas; and his siblings, Danise Harper of Clinton and Joe Newman (Pat) of Shirley, Arkansas. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a host of extended family, friends, neighbors.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pee Dee Cemetery (365 Pee Dee Rd, Clinton, AR 72031).
