She was predeceased by: her parents, King Brown and Pearl Brown (Whelchel); her husband Carl Eugene Melson; and her siblings, Vivan Brown, Hoyt Brown, Elton Dwain Brown and Shirley Tankersley.
She is survived by: her children, Carla Stewart (Steve) of Ozone and Stephen Melson (Amy) of Ozone; her grandchildren, Jordan Pledger (Bailey), Jocelyn Cornwell (Rush), Stephanie Melson, Kristyn Brown, Caleb Melson, Hayden Brown and Rylan Melson; and her brother Dallas "Bug" Brown of Kansas City, Kansas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
