He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Pitts and Erma Lee Pitts; his parents-in-law, Earl and Lorene Chesser; his siblings, Hugh Dale Pitts, Murl Don Pitts and Annetta Schmatjen; his son-in-law Greg Tumbleson; his siblings-in-law, Vester Kimbrel, James Chesser and Sheila Pitts; and his granddaughter Whitney Nichole Petersen.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Pitts (Chesser); his children, Steve Pitts (Penny), Rodney Pitts (LouAnn), Bobby Pitts (Diana), Sandy Avants (Allan Graham), Carla Tumbleson, Deanna Lovell (Don) and Misty Krigbaum (Shannon); his siblings, Lloyd Pitts (Rhonda), Randy Pitts (Betty), Neil David Pitts and Diane Kimbrel; and his sisters-in-law, Melba Pitts and Joy Chesser. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
