He was predeceased by: his parents, W. R. Smith (Happy) and Ellen Mae Smith (Warren); his brother William Clarence Smith; his sister-in-law Rosie; his sister Helen Stewart; his brother-in-law John Ray; his grandson Tod Smith; and his daughter-in-law Shawndra Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue; his sons, Jimmy Smith Jr. (Karen Stepp), John Smith (Jennifer) and Jeffery Smith Sr. (Kristin); his siblings, June Ray and Charles Smith (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Johnny, Jackie, Christopher (Stephanie Ross), Amanda Estes (Vincent), Jimmy, Jeffery Jr. (Becky), Tommy, Braxton and Alice. He is also survived by his 20 great-grandchildren.
