She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Cowell and Elsie Faught Cowell; her husband Herbert E. Farris; her daughter Barbara Pessia; and her sisters, Blanche Clayborn and Iola Davis.
She is survived by: her daughter Carolyn Patton (Frank) of Clarksville, Arkansas; her brother Wilburn L. Cowell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Tangela Felkins (Billy Joe), Dee Patton (Annie), Matt Periman (Stevie) and Ronnie Farris. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
