He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Sterling and Emma Sterling (Ammemmerman); his sister Mae Sue Hancock; his nephew Ronald Hancock; his niece Cindy Hancock; and his nephew-in-law Bob Miller.
He is survived by: his sister Virgina Hancock; his nieces and nephews, Steve Hancock (Michelle), Dennis Hancock (Carol), Prentice Hancock (Rebecca), Connie Thompson (Gene), Renee King (Chuck) and Tina Miller; and his brother-in-law Arnold Strain (Ruth). He is also survived by many other nephews and nieces.
