He was predeceased by: his parents, Herod Abston, Sr. and Addie McClair-Abston; his wife Mary Helen Abston; his sons, Tony Lamont Abston and Darrell Abston; his sisters, Mary Hill, Verla Mae Dismuke, Opal Postley and Shirley Mae Davenport; his grandchildren, Danielle Shanta Wiley, Dymitri Jarel Jones and Shametra Russell; and his great grandchild Khamari Bradford.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Jones Dawson (Tony) of Clarendon, AR, Herod Abston III of Clarendon, AR, Felicia Henderson (Macy) of Clarendon, AR, Melissa Russell (Norman) of Brinkley, AR and Donna Marie Payton (LenTonio) of LaMesa, CA; his sisters, Eunice Abston of San Diego, CA and Marlene Goodrich of Clarendon, AR; and his friends, Earnest Dawson of Clarendon, AR and Robert Culp of Monroe, AR. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
