She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hayes and Helen Ross Hayes; her husband Atha William Mathews; her son Danny Mathews; her siblings, Johnny Hayes, Gene Hayes, Emma Jean Ivy and Betty Hill; and her sons-in-law, Lonnie Stinnett and Herbert Sullins.

She is survived by: her children, Bobby Mathews (Beverly), Carolyn Stinnett and Doris Sullins; and her sisters, Tabby Stuberfield, Margie Cox and Diane Crosby. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
