Gwendolyn Fendley, 80, of Cherry Valley, Arkansas passed away at her home on May 26, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1943 in Wynne, Arkansas to Joseph and Jeffie (Stone) Smith. Gwendolyn was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Cherry Valley Baptist Church. She loved to travel with her husband and their favorite destination was Hawaii. She loved shopping, fishing, watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports, anything Elvis, and spending time with her family. She was an artist and loved making jewelry. She was a typical grandmother that never told her grandchildren no.
Survivors include; one son: Robert Nate Sullivan of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; two step children: Gina Lee (Larry) of Cherry Valley, Arkansas and Gary Fendley of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; nine grandchildren: Mitchell Fendley, Caryn McClanahan (Kaitlin), Daniel Sullivan, Kara Lee, Teagan Russell, Taylor Grace Harper (Seth), Kourtney Lee, Robyn Sullivan, Micah Russell; two great grandchildren: Cason King and Jack Harper; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by; her parents; husband: Jerry Fendley; one daughter: Billie Jo Russell; one sister: Bertha Tuggle; and two brothers: Robert Lee Smith and Donald Harold Smith.
Pallbearers: Nick Crosby, Mitchell Fendley, Jerry Buchanan, James Lee, David Cook, and Hollie Adams.
Honorary Pallbearers: Midge Kirby and Mark Payton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cherry Valley Baptist Church in Cherry Valley, Arkansas with Bro. Clayton Homewood officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Tyer Cemetery in Cherry Valley, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
