She was predeceased by: her parents, O. E. Ode and Venita Irene Cook (Brewer); her daughter Carol Varnell; and her siblings, Bill, Jim, Emmett, Doyle, Franky, Bobby, Phyllis Ann Cook and Dinah Kaman Debbie.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kristy Sutphin of Lavaca and Kendra Walker of Charleston; and her brothers, Donald Cook (Lena) of Charleston and Terry Cook (David Sims) of Palm Springs, California. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
