He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses "Mose" John Grist and Gracie Mae Grist (Burt); his son Jimmy Grist; his siblings, Harold, Cecil, William "Bill" Grist and Lila Richardson; his great grandchild Lillian Jones; and his close friend William Mark McBee.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Mae Grist (Kuykendall) of Charleston, Arkansas; his sons, Glyndon "Glyn" Grist of Charleston, Arkansas and Charles Grist I of Charleston, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Brittany Wilson (Brad) of Charleston, Jessica Grist of Charleston and Charles Grist II of Van Buren; and his great grandchildren, Brynlea Wilson, Bryant Wilson, Erica Smalley, Levi Grist, Allister Jones, Tristan Jones, Brayden Grist and Chelsea Grist. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
All the proceeds from this tournament went to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation which he proudly supported.
