He was predeceased by: his daughter Janie Bowen (Johnston); his wife Mary Alice Bowen; and his sister Doris Paul. He is survived by: his children, Mark Bowen (Tahnee) of Charleston, Bobby Bowen (Linda) of Greenwood, Teri Schoephoerster (John) of Goodyear, Becky Robertson (Vince Walbe) of Lavaca and Nancy Stone (Jack) of Crystal Springs, Arkansas; and his sister Bettye King of Charleston. He is also survived by grandchildren, (6) step-grandchildren, (15) great-grandchildren, and (1) great-great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked donations by made to First Baptist Church Children's Youth Camp Fund at First Baptist Church in Charleston.
