She was predeceased by: her parents, Hermon Carey and Opal Carey; her husband Everett Doyle Turpin; her children, Edward Doyle Turpin and Shelia McCoy; and her siblings, Leon Howard, Clyde Carey, Ronnie Carey, Gaylon Turpin and Barbra Brown.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rhonda Vanzandt, Loretta Turpin, Sharron Releford (Stanley) and Karen Darden (Clay); and her sister Carolyn Turpin. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
