She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Andrew Manuel and Gertie Davis James; and her brothers, Wayne and J. D. James. She is survived by: her husband H. C. Mayland; her children, Sandra Anderson of Lynn, Stanley Mayland (Barbara) of Strawberry, Stephanie Modisette (Zane) of Reyno and Shawna Satterwhite (Mickey) of Lynn; her sister Carloyn Melton (R. B.) of Newark; her grandchildren, Jake, Jill, Josh, Malerie, Trisha, Deborah and Chase; and her great grandchildren, Cambree, Maggie, Beau, Madison, Molly, Lilly and Lane.
