He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Shaw and Elsie Elizabeth Decker Shaw; his wife Dorothy Shaw; his children, Larry Gene Shaw and Carolyn Shaw; and his siblings, Emmit Shaw of Loyd Shaw, I. J, J. E. Shaw, Fred Shaw, Hellen Wygal, Annie Lewallen, Geneva Long, Lois Shaw, Lottie Shaw and Holly Shaw.
He is survived by: his son Rick Shaw (Debbie) of Batesville; his grandchildren, Larry Alan Shaw (Helen) of Charlotte, Michael Gene Shaw of Charlotte, James Derrick Shaw (Audra) of Springdale and Brittney Leigh Hightower (Ben) of Rogers; his great grandchildren, Michael Evan Shaw, Allison Jean Shaw, Logan Gene Shaw, Cooper James Hightower, Aubree Elise Shaw, Savannah Quinn Hightower and Beckham Shaw Hightower; and his sisters, Laura Lucille Shaw Gabris of Plant City, Margie Fern Shaw McClure of Olive Branch and Ruby June Shaw Smith (Edward) of Newark.
