She was predeceased by: her parents, Billy Smythe and Hannah Smythe; her husband John Frederick Zimmerman; her son George Lee Zimmerman; and her siblings, David Carter and Mary Smythe.

She is survived by: her son Johnny Zimmerman; her grandchildren, John George Zimmerman, Jonathan Ellis (Amber) and Sandra Marie Zimmerman; her great grandchildren, Katelyne Yancey, Addison Yancey, Abel Yancey, Noah Yancey, Von Frederick Zimmerman, Hannah Zimmerman, Sophia Zimmerman, Sawyer Ellis and David Zimmerman; her godson George Hedrick (Melaney); and her daughters, Hayley Hedrick and Megan Scott Horton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
