He was predeceased by: his parents, H. C. Clay and Alice Marie Erwin Clay; his son Dacon Lynn Clay; and his siblings, Gordon, Ronnie Clay and Suzzie Michaels.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Denise McAfee Clay; his children, Dewayne Clay (Lisa), Keith Austin, Jeremy Graham, D. J. Graham, Samantha Jones (Josh) and Alexandria Welch (Chad); and his siblings, Jimmy Clay, Doris Radloff, Shirley Kausler, Gary Earnhart and Jerry Kausler. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
