He was predeceased by: his parents, Cobie James Mays and Corine Amie Culp Mays; and his brother-in-law James Stafford. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Newton Mays; his children, Rod Mays (Stacy) and Traci Holder; his sisters, Mary E. Stafford and Jimmie Lou Pickett; and his grandchildren, Mason Holder (Sarah Beth), MaKenna Holder, Kelly Jones (Zach), Reed Mays and Riley Mays. He is also survived by one great-grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
