He was predeceased by: his parents, Sol Martin "Buster" Cooksey and Edith Gibson Cooksey; his spouse Ketha Carter Cooksey; his son Bobby Dwayne Cooksey (Brenda Cooksey); and his siblings, J. W. Cooksey, Gordon Cooksey, Betty Coats, Rita Moore and Joyce Counts.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen (Jim Counts) and Cynthia (Clint McKellar); his grandchildren, Krystal (Jesse Cox), Brandon (Darren Count-Martin), Kara (Sy Hill), Karman (Ryan Nolen), Jordan (Jessica McKellar) and Jared McKellar; his great grandchildren, Zoe, Jett Cox, Ashton, Madden Hill, Berkley, Huntley, Lincoln Nolen, Katie June, Castin McKellar and Rhiyln McKellar; and his sisters, Connie Kemp of Visalia, Shirley Wiyott of Glenwood and Margie Turner of Hot Springs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
