“It is with greatest respect and sympathy that I say goodbye to my Uncle Riley Stewart. I have so many fond memories of him, especially when we were younger. He loved all of his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and would enjoy an occasional prank on them. He loved music and has always had a smile on his face. Riley was always willing to do for others, especially his mom, Nannie. He grew his hair long, to just aggravate his dad, who didn't like it. Riley served our Nation with honor and integrity, and for that I am so grateful ! To Riley's children, (my sweet cousins), and to his loving wife, (my gracious Aunt), I send my love and sympathies. But, I rejoice in knowing that Riley is now in Heaven, with his Nannie and Grandpa Stewart, as well as his sisters, and many other family members. I can just picture them standing at the gate to welcome him into God's Kingdom. I rejoice that Riley will be walking streets of gold, and feasting at God's table, as well as playing the drums and singing with the heavenly angels! It will be hard for all of Riley's family and friends to say goodbye to him, I choose to say, I look forward to the family reunion with you and others in God's House! I love you all, Respectfully, Dorothy Thorpe, and family ( William and Jean Stewart's oldest daughter) !”
