She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert L. Stevens and Alberta Meyers Stevens; her son Johnny Lee Sperling; her granddaughters, Lorie Pettijohn and Teresa M. Biggins; and her sisters, Clara Lou Stevens and Virginia Harrod.
She is survived by: her husband C. D. Carter; and her children, Linda Kay Smith, Jackie Eugene Sperling, Alberta Ann Zawodny, Charles D. Carter, Jr., Kerry W. Carter and Brenda Renee Carter. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
