He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jeff Gibson, Sr. and D. Josephine Finney; his siblings, Pete Finney, Betty Davis, Barbara Myers, Larry Gibson and Ruby Klino; and his pet Famous Bob.
He is survived by: his wife Carla Bowen Gibson; his son Billy Gibson; his stepson Charles Howard; and his siblings, Thomas Gibson (Emmy) and Rachel Brown. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
