He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Phillip Elrod and Eva Craig Elrod; his wife Bonnie Jean; and his brothers, Tullis C. Elrod (Jean), Phillip E. Elrod (JoAnn) and Bill B. Elrod (Nancy).
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Elrod (Diana) of Denton, Texas and Donna Elrod (Kristen) of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sister Peggy Bengtson (Virgil) of Bryant; his grandson Alex Garland (Jessica) of Seattle, Washington; his pet Trixie Blue; and also, Evelyn and John Cathcart. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
