He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlege Deaton and Eudell Cagel Deaton Smith; and his siblings, James Doyle Deaton, Edward "Ed" Deaton, Patricia Deaton Strickland and Peggy Deaton Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Glover Deaton; his sons, Greg Deaton (Wanda) and Brian Deaton (Samantha); his grandchildren, Whitney Ward, Natalie Woods, Kaitlyn Crum (Michael), Lainey Deaton, Jordan Deaton (Carlie), Madyson Deaton, Trey Breeding and Sadie Breeding; his great grandchildren, Joe, Aubrey, Waylon, Hunter, Jaylee, Kylee, Charlee and Adlee; his close friends, Jan, Curtis Smith, Skeet (late Bob Morton), Erma and James "Jimmy" A. Rogers; and also, Sharon and Don Bone (family: Don, Nita Wallace, Gary, Marsha Wallace).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Bryant (6715 AR-5, Bryant, AR 72022). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the missionary fund at First Baptist Church of Bryant.
