He is survived by: his spouse Effie Nix Hathcoat; his children, Jeanene Albert (Dennis) of Jonesboro, Sandra Johnson (Greg) of Jonesboro, Melinda Vincent (Paul) of Cherokee Village, Angie Brown (Kevin) of Brookland, Tim Hathcoat (Janet) of Paragould and Mark Hathcoat (Sherry) of Jonesboro; his daughter-in-law Renee Hathcoat of Jonesboro; and his siblings, Delbert Hathcoat of Brookland, Mary Smith of Brookland, Patsy Smith of Brookland, Shirley Thompson of Brookland and Kay Hardin Greenway of Jonesboro. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
