He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeland Strickland and Ophelia Williams Strickland; and his siblings, Freeland Strickland Jr., Richard Strickland, Daisy Lee, Amos Strickland, Charlene Strickland, David Strickland, Kenneth Strickland and Mattie Bell Benneth.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Earley Strickland of Bradley; his sons, Terry Strickland (Candace) and James Strickland (Shaunte); his siblings, Gladis Johnson, Matilda Strickland, Ola Mae Gill (Robert), Emma Lollis (James), Jeanette Davis, Bobbie Estes (Dave), Dale Strickland (Gina), Billy Strickland (Janice) and Christina Turner (Calvon); his grandchildren, Dylan Strickland, Samantha Strickland, Terry James Strickland Jr., Madison Strickland, James Russell Strickland, Taylor Strickland, Justin Strickland and Jordan Blalark (De'jion); his great grandchild Serayah Strickland of Houston; and his grandchildren, Cru Blalark of Houston and Hendrix Blalark of Houston. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
While his passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, Ubin's legacy and the memories of his warm personality and contributions to his community will continue to live on.
