He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Maples and Ruby Maples; his wife Frances Vernelle Maples; and his brothers, Robert, Monroe, Billy, Glendell and C. W. Maples.
He is survived by: his children, James Coy Maples of Hot Springs and Susan Maples Martin of Greenbrier; his grandchildren, Adam Cockrell of Cabot, Bruce Maples of Spain, Bryan Maples of Hot Springs, Amber Cockrell of Cabot, Jennifer Maples of Hot Springs, Rocky Martin of Greenbrier, Lucas Martin of Greenbrier and Sam Martin of Greenbrier; and his siblings, Evelyn Lackie of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Ray Maples of Austin, Arkansas. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
