She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leon Merrell and Alice Massey (Crawford); her husband George Dallas Humes, Jr.; her sister Clara Massey; her daughters, Georginna Bethel and Sarah Cherry; her grandchildren, Grayce Humes, Madison White, Bailey White and Viktor Cherry; and her brothers, Jeremy Merrell and Billy Harrison. She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
