He is survived by: his spouse Kay Bearden Hurst May; his children, John Hurst (Carol) of St. Louis, Missouri, Sherry Hurst (Daniel) of Batesville and Melania Macias (Jason) of Greenville; and his grandchildren, Isabella and Liam. He is also survived by many friends and extended family.
