He was predeceased by: his wife Arlean Boersma; his son Andrew "Andy" Boersma; his brother Leon Boersma Jr.; and his parents, Leon Boersma Sr. and Frances Boersma.

He is survived by: his son Joey Boersma of Tontitown, Arkansas; and his brother Richard Boersma of Booneville.
