He was predeceased by: his wife Jeannie Akren; and his sons, Devin Akren and Cory Akren. He is survived by: his children, Rick Tribble (Dianna) of Bono, Jerry Joe Akren of El Cajon and Tracey Taylor of Swampscott. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: and three great grandchildren.
