He is survived by: his wife Lucille Martin of Board Camp; his sons, Randy Martin of Charlotte, James Martin Jr. of Winston, Clyde (Martha Martin) and Patrick Martin of Yadkinville; and his siblings, John Martin of Loris, Horace Martin of Greensboro, Ronald Martin of Greensboro, Frances Palmer of Lexington and Nancy Little of Lexington. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
