We are sad to announce that on December 23, 2024, at the age of 83, Richard Godsey (Blytheville, Arkansas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Richard may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Godsey and Evelyn Godsey; and his wife Mary. He is survived by: his girlfriend Donna Tovar of Blytheville; his sons, David (Sonja Godsey) and Bobby (Kimberly Godsey); his stepdaughters, Tammy Tovar of Blytheville and Stacy Akers of Paragould; his sister Mary Lentz of Fort Worth, TX; and his close friend Bernie Beecy (Bernard). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Carney Funeral Home (1501 Byrum Rd, Blytheville, AR 72315). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
